GUIDE
Connecting Your Email Sending Domain to Bravado
Overview
Connecting your email sending domain to Bravado ensures your outbound recruitment emails are authenticated, delivered reliably, and protected against spoofing. This configuration allows Bravado to send emails on your behalf while meeting industry standards for security and deliverability.
We recommend allowing Bravado to send emails on your behalf because emails sent directly from your subdomain tend to resonate better with candidates than emails sent from a 3rd-party recruiting platform.
When configured, Bravado will:
Send candidate outreach emails using your organization’s subdomain.
Authenticate emails with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC protocols.
Route candidate responses directly into Bravado for tracking and follow-up.
Security & Compliance When Connecting Your Domain
Bravado is SOC 2 Type II certified and operates under rigorous security controls to protect customer data and email-sending infrastructure. Access to production systems, databases, and encryption keys is strictly limited to authorized personnel using secure authentication methods, including multi-factor authentication and unique SSH keys.
All sensitive data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and our infrastructure is protected by restricted firewall, OS, and network access. We perform continuous vulnerability monitoring and regular control self-assessments to ensure ongoing compliance. Confidentiality agreements, background checks, and mobile device management are enforced for all employees and contractors. Customer data is securely deleted upon request.
These measures ensure that when Bravado sends authenticated emails on your behalf, your domain reputation, data, and infrastructure remain protected in accordance with industry best practices.

Prerequisites
Before starting, ensure:
Your IT administrator can access DNS management for your company domain.
Your IT administrator can configure email accounts and forwarding.
You have selected a subdomain name and email address.
Recommendation
Use a dedicated subdomain (e.g., gtm-recruiting.yourcompany.com) for recruitment email activity. This isolates your main domain’s sending reputation and signals your intent to recipients and inbox providers.
Setup process
Forward a link to this document and the Bravado Setup Page to your company’s IT manager.
On the setup page, click Get Started.

Fill in your domain name and email address, then click Next.

Set up DNS records:
Log in to your DNS provider and add the records required for authentication.
For each record, click the Copy icon next to the Host and Value, then paste the values in your DNS provider.
DNS records can take from 10 to 70 minutes to be fully verified.
Once complete, click Verify DNS Records to check the status.

What do these records do?
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) – Lists approved mail servers for your domain.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) – Digitally signs your emails to prove they were sent by you.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance) – Tells receiving servers what to do if SPF or DKIM checks fail.
Follow the generated instructions on the platform to setup your sending email.

Once forwarding is active, click I’ve Completed These Steps in Bravado. You are all set!
